Privacy Policy

Who We Are

This is the privacy policy for whtgbapps.com. It explains, in plain terms, what information passes through the site and how it’s handled. If anything here is unclear, you’re welcome to contact us at [your email].

Comments

If you leave a comment, the details you enter in the comment box are stored, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, both of which help us screen out spam. A hashed (scrambled) version of your email may be sent to Gravatar to check for a matching profile picture; their policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Approved comments display your name and picture publicly.

Media

If you ever upload an image here, strip out any embedded location data (EXIF GPS) first, since anyone viewing the site could download that image and read the location stored inside it.

Cookies

Commenting gives you the option to save your name, email, and site in cookies so you don’t retype them next time; these last a year. Our login page sets a short test cookie that’s deleted when you close the browser. Logging in adds cookies for your session and display settings, lasting two days (or two weeks with “Remember Me”), while display preferences last a year. Editing a post stores a one-day cookie holding only the post ID.

Embedded Content

Articles here may embed videos, images, or posts from other sites. That embedded content acts as if you’d visited the source directly, so those third parties may set their own cookies and track your interaction with their material.

Data Retention and Your Rights

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so we can auto-approve your follow-ups. Registered users’ profile data is stored and can be viewed, edited, or deleted at any time, apart from the username. You may also request an exported copy of your data or ask us to delete it, except where we’re required to keep certain records.

Spam Checking

Visitor comments may be run through an automated spam-detection service.
